Alex is 12 weeks!!

Alex at 12 weeks and a photo of Kate & Alex holding hands:

Wow, can it be that my little boy is 12 weeks old today?? How can that be?? Wasn't I just sweating around here all pregnant like a second ago?? Man, I can't believe it!!

Anyway, he is so cute!! He smiles, alot, that is when he isn't screaming!! He loves for us to talk to him & he will just smile from ear to ear!! He is really baby talking all the time now!! I feel like I have little conversations with him!!

He seems bigger to me every day! He is wearing 3-6 month clothes & probably could fit into 6 month clothes, but I just can't bare to put him in them yet!!!

He is still sleeping all night long. I plan to work on getting him on some kind of schedule this week! He pretty much eats every 2 hours ( or sooner) all day, with usually a long 3-4 hour nap in the afternoon.

Oh the crying!! He seems to cry when he is hungry, cry when he is tired, when I put him in the car, when the car stops moving or/and when we stop bouncing his bouncy chair!! Kate never cried like Alex, never!! It has taken some getting used to, but I think we are finally used to the crying in our house/car!!! Kate is so funny, when she hears Alex cry-she will say "brother?" and ran to help him--so cute!! She will rock his car seat/bouncy seat, it's so cute! She will also try to pick up the car seat when we are about to leave somewhere!! She is a great big sister.

Happy Turkey Day

Mike, Kate, Alex and I spent Thanksgiving with my Mom and Dad and my sister and brother-in-law. My Brother-in-law, Brian smoked us an awesome turkey that was really good!! My Mom, Jes and Brian made the sides. I made a fruit salad. We all ate while Kate watched Snow White and Alex was sleeping!! It was a great day with good Food, Football and Family!!!

Beautiful day at the Park

We have actually been having Fall weather lately! The trees even look like fall!! It has been chilly in the morning and then the afternoons are about in the 70's which is really great! Yesterday after picking Kate up from school we walked to Creekside park to enjoy the beautiful day we were having!! Cassie and her boys met us there! It is nice to see that Jax and Kate are really starting to play together!

Kate is doing well in MDO, or school as she calls it. She has even started to take naps!! I couldn't believe it the first day I walked in and found her sleeping--wow! I thought that would never happen! But it's happened two times now, I guess she is finally getting comfortable there. Last Tuesday, she gave me my most embarrassing Mommy moment, when she refused to hold my hand in the parking lot of MDO and every time I would grab her hand she would go limp!! She did this on the stairs and everyone was staring at us!! I really wanted to disappear! So even with wearing Alex, I picked her up as she was yelling and kicking and took her to her classroom!! Fun, Fun! She is really a challenge these days. On Sunday, we took family pictures at Pflugerville park. Mike and I were both dreading it, but Kate did so much better than we expected! Hopefully we got some good shots!!

Alex is 10 weeks old now and just so cute!! He has these big chucky cheeks and legs now! He is smiling a lot and starting to do some baby talking! He is still sleeping really well at night and has been awake a lot during the day. He gets so fussy when he wants to go to sleep in the afternoons and it seems the only thing that works is bouncing him on my legs! Today in the car he was fussy, but would stop crying when we were driving, but every time I stopped he would cry! Kate is so funny when she hears Alex cry--she will get this concerned look on her face and say "Brother?"

It seems like we have adjusted to being a family of four. It's been interesting, And I'm sure there is only more fun to come!!

Who does Alex look like?

Kate and Alex do look similar, but Alex isn't a carbon copy of Mike like Kate, so I wonder does he happen to look like me? My mom keeps saying he looks like my Dad. Her is a photo of my Dad at 3 months with his Mom:

Here is a photo of me at 3 mths:

Alex isn't 3 mths here, but he is 10 weeks:

So what do you think?

Alex's 2 mth stats!

Alex had his 2 mth Dr. Appt yesterday. Dr.Owens was impressed with how alert he was & with how in love he is with his Mommy! She said he looked great!

Weight: 12lbs 5 oz (50%)
lenght: 23 inches ( 55%)
head: 39.1cm ( 45%)

He is so much bigger than Kate at 2mths! Kate was only 10 lbs 4 oz at 2 mths, she wasn't 12 lbs until 4 mths!!!

Alex got shots & he did cry, but not as much as I expected him too!! The shots knocked him out for the rest of the day!! Kate is feeling better after being sick all last week, but she still has a cough. I couldn't believe it, but she was actually sleeping when I went to pick her up from MDO yesterday!! I couldn't believe it!! I guess there is a first for everything!! Mike & I both seem to now have her cold now.

My baby Alex is 2 mths!!

I can't believe it, but my baby boy is 2 months old already!! Wow! It's already going by so fast. And he is getting so big! We have his 2 mth appointment on Thursday and I can't wait to see what he weighs!

I have two friends, Katie & Christy, who just had their first baby girls about 2 weeks or so after I had Alex and their blog posts about their new little ones has inspired me to try to blog more about little Alex and what he is doing. So here goes:

Alex is really starting to smile alot at us. He loves when we make faces at him. He loves for us to talk to him! And he is starting to make all those baby talking noises back to us! He also is able to grab things, like toys and he has even gotten his hands on my hair and Kate's!

He is pretty much sleeping 5-7 hours at night. I try to nurse him between 9-10pm and he will usually sleep/not eat again until anywhere between 3-5 in the morning. Then in the morning he will mostly sleep and eat every 3 hrs. After lunch, he seems to be fussy and seems to get even more fussy in the early evening. Most afternoons he eats every 2 hours or sooner. Kate was pretty much on a nursing schedule by now, but Alex, well I'm trying! He is just such a different baby! I mean he cries ALOT more than Kate EVER did!! But I think we are all getting used to hearing him cry!

At night while we put Kate to bed, we usually put Alex in his room in his crib and then we don't hear from him at all pretty much the whole time we are putting Kate down. He loves it in there! I don't know what it is about that room, but I think he is going to be very happy in it! He also loves being on one of the play mats that we have. Kate also loved it. He also loves to be bounced!! I will sit back in our recliner and bounce him on my legs--that's how I keep getting him to sleep and then become trapped by him sleeping on me most afternoons! He also loves being bounced in his vibrating chair!

Here are some cute pictures of my baby boy at 8 weeks:

As I was trying to take Alex's 2 mth photos with the sign and football, Kate for some reason, wanted to get in the picture with Alex. It seems to be a rare occasion these days where she wants to have pictures taken OF her, she usually wants my camera!! IF you will remember the scary photos we tried to take of the two of them for Halloween--these are so much better. Too bad Kate is in her PJ's and looks like she hasn't brushed her hair in 3 days!!

Let's just hope that on Sunday when we take our family photos, she acts the same way!!

Trick-R-Treating with Tinkerbell

It seems that every activity with Kate, Mike and I both just take a deep breath and hope it goes well and she doesn't have too many meltdowns. Halloween night was no different! I knew it might take her time to adjust to her costume, so about 30 minutes before leaving for Trick r Treating, I tried to put on her costume. It actually took Mike and I both to get it on her and then she had a meltdown for a while. Thank goodness by the time we left, she was happy again!! We headed to Kelly's house to join, her sons Grady & little Jackson and also, Cassie and her boys, baby Reese and Jax. Here is Kate after we put her wings on her-yet another meltdown:

Here is cute baby Reese:

After Kate got over her meltdown, she started her Halloween night off right by opening and eating a Reese peanut butter cup:

Kate was so cute carrying her candy bag!! She would also call any box of candy that she received to be "raisins!" She did a really really great job at Trick R Treating and we didn't have anymore meltdowns!! Also, she walked the whole time and was so wore out by the time we left! She wore her wings almost the whole time, but wouldn't wear her crown. Also, if you notice the white things on her wrist, that is a "miller chill" sweat band that she loves to wear ALL THE TIME!! Usually she is wearing all 3 of them at once! I wore Alex and he slept the whole time!

It was a really great night--Kelly thanks for letting us join you guys in your neighborhood! We should do it again together next year!

***Reason I am just now posting all this, is that Kate woke up Monday morning with fever. She stayed home from school today and we went to the doctor to be told that she has a cold and LOTS of drainage. Poor thing, we have watched lots of Snow White, or as she calls it "Hi Ho."

Alex as a glow worm!

Aunt Kristin made this glow worm costume for Kate 2 years ago, and it was Alex's costume this year!! So cute!

Our little (scary) pumpkins!

Who knew taking pictures of two kiddos could be such a challenge!!
