Kate rides a pony for the first time!!

Last week we started the week with our weekly trip to the story time at Wells Branch library followed by a trip to the duck pond on Monday. Tuesday we went to a meet up at Metro park and my baby played on the play scape all by herself for the FIRST time!! I couldn't believe it! She just climbed up the stairs and went down the BIG slide all by herself and didn't even look back!! Then after being there about an hour, she kept walking back to the car and every time I tried to stop her, she would scream and throw herself on the ground!! So I decided that she just wanted to leave--so we got in the car and she was happy!! It was weird, but I guess she was ready to leave! Wednesday we had her Dr. appointment followed by music class and then Thursday we had a P.J. day. Friday we spent the day with Cassie and Jax. Saturday we had a double header of great birthday parties. First was a first birthday party with a petting zoo and pony rides! Kate loved the pony ride! After nap time we headed to our second b-day party which was just as fun as the first one of the day, but boy was I tired by the time we got home!! I could have craweled into bed when we got home!! Then on Sunday we had a great lunch with my friends Becca and Abbie from college at the Saltlick. Good food and even better company! What a week!

Oh and DUKE is headed to the final FOUR!! So exciting!! Keep your fingers crossed that Mike makes it to the game!!

16 week belly

I am feeling so much better!! Fat, but better. I still can't believe the belly I already have! Besides what I think is sciatic nerve pain in my right leg (pretty much anytime I MOVE my right leg), I feel good. Hopefully at my doctor appointment tomorrow she can tell me if that is what this is!

Kate's stats at 18 mths

Kate had her 18 mth check up yesterday.

Height: 31 1/2 inches (48%)
Weight: 22 lbs 9 oz (25%)

I fell in love with Kate's doctor, Dr. Owens at the appointment. I was so dreading this appointment, since Kate really isn't talking. Well, Dr. Owens was really great about the whole thing and made me feel so much better about it!! She asked tons of questions about Kate and told us not to worry that it sounds like her brain is working!! We told her about Mike not talking until he was 2 and she said that explains alot! It was a great visit and I can't believe we don't go again until Kate is 2. Crazy to think that by then we will have ANOTHER baby by then!!

Spring Break

Last week was spring break, so my Mom had off work from school so she came with a visit. I am finally feeling better (15 weeks along now) and while I was sick I kinda let the house well, get really dirty!! So I spent a lot of time cleaning on Monday and Tuesday! Mike's friend from college was here for SXSW from NYC & stayed with us on Tuesday night. Then my mom got here on Wednesday. We spent Thursday at the outlet mall and then dinner with Jes & Brian. Friday we cleaned out and re-organized my kitchen!! It needed major help!! Thanks Mom for all your help! It was a great visit! But boy was a tired after all that! I stayed in my PJ's all day Saturday to recover!!

Kate is doing great, except that she throws a fit every time she doesn't get what she wants! They are the screaming and throw herself on the ground type of fit! I'm not sure how to deal with them yet. At the book Box story time on St. Patrick's day she threw one in front of everyone and I was so happy it was loud due to all the kids in the Book Box!! Oh goodness! What am I going to do with her? Good thing she is so cute!

OH and I am so FAT and pregnant already!!! I can't believe how much I am showing already!! With Kate I didn't show for sooo long and now, well I LOOK so pregnant!!!

Kate the animal lover!

On Sunday we took Kate to the Austin rodeo. They had a really nice kid zone and Kate loved the petting zoo. She had NO fear of the animals at all!! She would walk right up to them and pet them and then try to lay her head on them to hug/snuggle with them. It was really funny. She had a great time!

Jax & Kate

Last week, Kate & I left the house almost every day!!! That is the first time in a while that has happened! I am feeling better! Now that I am 14 weeks, I seem to have more energy and can go more than 2 hours without eating and not feel the need to throw up!! Kate is doing great, just getting taller by the day!! Here are pictures of Kate and her good friend Jax.

Kate & Croup!!

Monday morning I noticed that Kate was acting a little out of it, and then when she feel asleep in my arms before lunch--I knew something was up!! I took her temperature and sure enough she had fever!! I ended up sleeping in her room that night due to the fever and I noticed her cough sounded a little like a bark, but I thought there was NO WAY that it could be croup!! By noon on Tuesday she still was running a fever so I called and made a doctor appointment for the next morning. She pretty much wouldn't let me put her down ALL day Long!! By 4pm, she really started with the barking cough and then she stopped drinking and eating!! She wouldn't even eat grapes and I thought--we need to see a doctor SOON (I sometimes think she loves grapes more than ME!)!! So by 6pm we were at the doctors office and she was diagnosed with croup and had a fever of almost 103. She was given a steroid and an Epi Neb Tx (now that took me back to my working days!!) She hated it all, but sounded SO much better after the Epi neb tx. Thank Goodness!! I was very happy with the care she received! Thank you so much Austin Regional Clinic in Round Rock!!! I was so afraid that she was going to get worse during the night, but she slept OK and her fever finally broke. I ended up sleeping with her in the twin bed, so I really got no sleep. She was very hoarse the next day, but really no more barking cough. She was sent home on steroids for 2 days so that really seemed to help! Today she seems to be back to her crazy self, crawling all over the furniture, and being put in time out 2 times this morning before 8am!! She has a nasty cough, but from what I have read she could cough up to 2 weeks after having croup. We have not left the house since the doctor appointment on Tuesday so I know Kate is missing all her friends and is sick of ME!! So we have a B-day party to go to tomorrow, thankfully! I think she has given me a little cold, or it could be that I am just completely exhausted!! I hope I get to caught up on some rest this weekend. I will be 13 weeks on Sunday so I HOPE the morning sickness is coming to an end!!

Baby B at 11 weeks

Last Friday, Feb 26, we had an appointment for Baby B. This time Mike, Kate & I were all there together! Kate and Mike got to see Baby B for the first time!! Baby B was sleeping and then the Dr. poked my belly and that sure did wake up Baby B!! It was funny! Then Baby B went right back to sleep! Everything looks great so far! Hopefully I will feel better soon! But seeing how much Baby B has grown in a month, makes me realize WHY I am so tired!!

Cutie Katie Bug!

Kate is so cute!! I just had to say it! Last night after her bath she picks up her comb & starts to try to comb her hair! This is after brushing her own teeth while in the tub ( with a little help from me). She also knows her bows go in her hair & that her shoes go on her feet!

So last week, after our crazy snow day, we celebrated Mike's 32 Birthday! Kate & I gave him a wireless printer & a cheesecake with six different kinds of cheesecake! Unfortunately, Kate was up alot the night before, not sure why, so we were all sorta tired that morning & stayed in bed late. We went to Jungle Java, but since it was $3 day, it was crazy crowded!! Kate wasn't in the best mood, so we didn't stay too long. We had lunch at Chile's & then we headed home so we could all nap! Friday we had an appointment for Baby B & everything looks perfect so far. I will post the ultrasound soon. We had a low key weekend, had a great lunch with friends on Saturday.

Today I think Kate might be coming down with something, but we did get her registered for a mothers day out program to start in the fall & went to story time at the library.
