Mother's Day Out!

Kate will start her Mother's Day Out program next week! I am super excited for her and I hope that she loves it! We went to an open house last Thursday and she seemed to like the toys in her classroom and was just running around having too much fun! We saw a little boy screaming and holding on to his Mom for dear life and we thought Kate could not be more different than that! I think she is really going to enjoy MDO. I just worry about the whole nap thing. She really only naps about maybe 3 times a week now. She will play in her room for 2 hours and not cry, but really will only nap about 3 times a week. At MDO they are expected to nap while they are there--I worry that she won't nap and be a problem! But we will see!

She seems to know all of her letters now. She will get E and F confused sometimes and still has her own made up word for W. She also seems to know her numbers 1-10. We have started to work on colors and she can say yellow, purple, and pink, but everytime we ask her what color anything is--she says "Yellow"!! We will keep working on that! She has also started to response to the TV, like repeating things they say or doing the action she is being asked to do. She also has been picking up words/sounds in songs and will say them during the song. She has finally started to make animal sounds the last few weeks and is naming animals really well. I love the way she says Elephant. As I was saying earlier, she doesn't nap every day and well she started to be a bit destructive in her room! Also, we had to call the poison control for the first time last week since she climbed on her drawers to get to the top of her dresser and ate some Destine (diaper rash cream). Mike said the lady seemed like they get that call alot and told us not to worry that she just might have some diarrhea. So therefore, Kate's room is now pretty bare!! Her closet is overflowing with all her stuff!! I am about to take everything out of the drawers!!

Kate seems to have no idea how her life is about to change. Being the oldest myself, I sorta feel sorry for her! I know she will probably not remember being an only kid, but I just want to treasure each day with her since it will never be just her and me ever again!! Makes me sad . . .

Bath time now and then

Here is Kate in the bath last August:

Here she is Sunday night in the bath:

Saturday

On Saturday we headed to the park for a memorial for the sweet little girl, Peyton, that passed away after being bitten by a rattlesnake a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful morning and a great celebration of her 23 month life! The kids had a great time playing at the park and blowing bubbles up to Peyton! We will all miss Little Miss P!!

That afternoon we headed to the Mills Twins 2nd B-day party! I can't believe that Jack and Maddie are 2 already and Kate will be so soon!!

Here the 3 of them are from the Twins 1st birthday last year:

This is from their 2nd birthday this Saturday:

Wow-what a difference a year makes!

38 weeks!!

38 weeks and still at 1 cm!! My Doctor doesn't think anything is going to happen this week--but you never know! Unfortunately, I came down with a cold last week and ended up with fever on Wednesday night. We had trouble finding an Urgent Care Clinic that would take me, being so pregnant, but we finally did and I was given a Z-Pak. I think it was a sinus infection and I was doing sinus rinses like 3 times a day just to be able to breath! So much fun, let me tell you! But I am feeling better, thank goodness!! Also, I am still at a weight under 200 lbs, which makes me happy!! I have gained 40 lbs, which is the same I gained with Kate. I am hoping that I don't have the baby until at least after Labor Day--that is when Mike's Mom gets here to help us with Kate, but we will see.

Kate loves to give hugs!!

Kate has been big on giving hugs lately!! We were at Cassie's last week, also with another friend, Kelly and son Jackson, and Kate was giving them all hugs!! It was soo cute!! Unfortunately, my camera wasn't fast enough to get the hugs she was giving Jax and Jackson, but this is what I did get!!

Baby B's Diaper Dinner

My very sweet friends in my Mom's group here in Pflugerville, threw Cassie and I a diaper dinner last week! We had great food (thanks Lori!) and desserts (thanks Lori & Sandra) and just enjoyed each others company!! A special Thanks to Lori for hosting and organizing this!! Cassie and I really appreciated it!!

Thank you Mamas for thinking of us and the diapers!!! Baby B is good for diapers for a long while!!

Also thanks Kelly for the diaper cake!

**On a side note--Cassie actually had her baby boy Reese this morning by C-section!!

The NEW Abernethy Momzvan

Mike hasn't been happy with his BMW, so he made the decision that he really likes driving the KIA, so we traded in the BMW at carmax for a '08 Chrysler Town & Country!!

Bring on the road trips!!

At least I tried . . . .

So I tried to get some pictures of Kate taken for her upcoming 2nd Birthday at JCPenney. We went there every month her whole first year of life, but we haven't been there since Christmas time. So 2 weeks ago, we go and she was in a great mood and looked super cute in her ladybug dress; then the second we stepped into the studio she started crying and wouldn't let go of me!! I was completely shocked by this! What was going on?? Oh, the lady at JCPenney worked soo hard with her, but she was only happy inside the studio playing on the motorcycle that they had as a prop! And after 15 minutes of her crying and nothing working--not singing, not Mommy acting silly, not her favorite books, not Minnie Mouse and not raisins-- so I just said "what the h*ll, let her take her pictures on the motorcycle!" So here are the results:

AND yes, it is ok to laugh!! Like I said--at least I tried!!

37 weeks . . . already!!

I can't believe that I am 37 weeks already!! So crazy!! I saw the doctor this morning and I am 1 cm dilated with Baby B's head down already! She also thinks I might have this baby before my due date (trying not to get too excited about that!)

I am feeling ok, just my allergies driving me crazy!! Also, my hands are a little bit swollen, but my feet seem to be fine. My back is acting up in the afternoon, but it's not that bad.

I am so excited to meet Baby B and find out if Kate is having a little brother or sister!!

On a side note--I had a great weekend visiting with some friends from college. Thanks to Amanda & Becca for coming to see me!! It was great!!

Also, looks like we are going to trade in Mike's BMW for a mini-van from carmax. More on that later this week!

Weekend alone

My Mom was sweet enough to take Kate this past weekend!! Mike and I didn't know what to do with ourselves and the house was so quiet without our KatieBug!! We saw 2 movies, went to dinner with friends, went to the comedy club, cleaned the garage, stream cleaned the carpets, took naps and well just enjoyed each other's company. Thank you so much to my Mom for watching Kate and also to Brian and Jes for letting Mom and Kate stay with them!!!

I can't believe that "baby B" could be here in less than 4 weeks!! That is so crazy to me! I think we have about everything ready, I guess. We are so different this time around. With Kate, we had the nursery perfect, the car seat in the car, and a bag packed for the hospital by now. I have to honestly say, we haven't done any of those things yet!! I think Mike and I are in complete denial that we are about to be parents of two little ones!!

Here is a cute picture of Kate and her Daddy:

36 weeks with my dear friend Cassie

Here I am at 36 weeks and Cassie is 37 weeks. This is at a shower she had on Sunday.

My two babies!

This is Kate and my belly! She will even give the baby a kiss!!

My 32nd Birthday

Saturday was my 32nd Birthday. Mike & Kate woke me by signing Happy Birthday and breakfast & presents in bed. Jes took me to get a pedi in the morning (Thanks Jes!!) That afternoon we headed downtown to the Children's museum for Jax's 2nd birthday!

After the party, Mike and I headed out on our date. Gram was nice enough to babysit so we could go out (THANKS GRAM!!) We had dinner at Olive Garden, stopped for ice cream and then saw John Heffron, who won the second season of Last Comic Standing, at the Capitol City Comedy Club. He was really great, we both laughed a ton!! Here is a new family picture:

Thank you to my wonderful hubby for making this birthday special!! I love you!

34 weeks and extreme fun!

On Thursday I had my 34 week appointment and everything seems to be going great! Kate got lots of attention because she wore this crown on her head while we were there! I can't believe we will be having a new baby in only 6 weeks!! Where has the time gone? Anyway, on Thursday afternoon we headed to extreme fun. I think Kate wore Mike out!! Kate was not afraid of anything and wanted to TRY everything!!

Kate's last gymnastics class

Gram has been in town with us the last week, so we all went to Kate's last gymnastics class.

Kate really did end up loving gymnastics, we are going to sign her up for classes again in Sept. Mike will be taking her while I am with the new baby! We also had our last music class for a while on Wednesday. I am sad to say that our favorite music teacher is taking a break and will hopefully be back in the spring!! Kate has loved music class and I know she will miss it!!
