Aunt Jes & Alex
My sis, Jes, came to take me some much needed retail therapy! When we got back, here she is with Alex.

We all went to Hippin' Hippo together! We all had a blast!
Mike's parents were in Texas to attend a wedding in Houston, so lucky for us we got to spend some time with them!! Mike and I were able to have some dinners out (kid free) and I even got to see him play in his weekly softball game!! Kate and Alex both enjoyed having their grandparents here. Kate watched her first Shirley Temple movie with Paw Paw and Gram gave her more stuff for her dollhouse and Disney pieces for her Mr. Potato Head. Mike & his parents went golfing and went out to dinner. Mike had his 33rd birthday
while they were here, so Mike and I went out to see the movie Hall Pass. Mike spent most of his 33rd bday on the golf course (he played 36 holes!)

Da da
Alex is now saying "DaDa". So cute! He is for sure now mobile-he rolls all over the floor & his crib! Unfortuntly he is going to be crawling very soon!! He can already pick up the lower half of his body & kick his feet!! Yikes! He is still eating a ton!! On Wednesday he eat 3 pkgs of stage 1 baby food!! I mixed cereal with his baby food & he eat only 2, so that's better. He is still sleeping well at night, and pretty much up all day it feels like.
As for Kate, Mike & I thought she was better. Her cough was almost completely gone. She would still cough a little in the mornings & when she was really active. Even the teacher at school noticed that she didn't cough at allbon Thursday at school. So we had a follow up appointment for her Thursday. Dr Owens listening to us & was happy that she was better. Then she examed Kate & found her ears to be infected & still lots of green stuff in her nose. So sadly she will be put on antibiotics once again & we go back to see Dr Owens in 2 weeks!! Hopefully this round will wipe it out finally!!! Her behavior has seemed to improve now, so as Mike says, there could be an even nicer Kate in there. So keep your fingers crossed that these meds work!!!
A few days ago, Kate was trying to find Alex & when she found him, she says "hey buddy". I was like "huh?" I didn't realize it but Mike & I both call Alex our little buddy, so much that Kate picked up on it I guess!! So looks like Alex has a nick name!
Also, Alex loves for us to playpeekk-a-Bo. So Kate will cover her eyes, say "where's Kate?" and then say her version of peek a boo. Very cute!

Windy Park Day
Today I finally felt better and had a good night sleep, so instead of Kate and Mike going out to play, Alex and I came along. We went to Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. It was super windy! Kate liked feeding the ducks and Alex loves being able to sit up in and see everything in the stroller!

Alex eating update!
OH my Alex, does he sure love to eat!! He LOVES his rice cereal! He has already eaten a whole box! In the morning I will make him a big bowl of it and I will think, this will be enough for him, but then when he has eaten it all, I always have to make him MORE!! We started solids and so far he didn't seem to like green beans, he hated peas, sorta liked carrots, sorta liked squash, and LOVED sweet potatoes and bananas. I wasn't surprised by the sweet potatoes because Kate loved sweet potatoes, but I was so surprised by the bananas! Kate hated bananas as a baby food and still will not eat them!! Alex will eat 1 1/2 pkgs of baby food!! I feel like that is too much, but he doesn't spit it up. I am proud of myself that we have done really well with the schedule I started a few weeks ago. Our day is pretty much on schedule. Alex eats BM usually once at night or super early in the morning, like 5:30ish. Then he will eat BM between 7-8 and then rice cereal between 9-10. He will take about a 30 minute nap sometime in the morning usually. Then he has BM between 11-12. Then BM again between 2-3. Then baby food between 4-5. He will usually have a longer nap after the 12ish feeding or 2ish feeding. Then at 6 he usually starts to get fussy and want to go to bed and have BM. So that's my day with Alex!
He has really started moving around on the floor! He rolls both ways now all the time and yesterday was rolling all over the living room floor! He can pick up the front half of his body really well and I'm scared that he will be crawling way too soon!! He can sit up but still needs support.

Kate is really being the sweetest big sis lately! One day when we were about to leave to go someplace, Alex was crying in his car seat as I was finishing to get all our stuff ready to leave and Kate bends down to the car seat, rubs Alex's leg, rocks the car seat and says "oh Alex, it's OK." It was one of those moments where I felt like crying.
When Alex is on the floor playing, if he doesn't have a toy within reach, he will cry. Kate will walk over to him and give him a toy and say "here you go, Alex." She will also give him hugs (by putting her head on his back). She will also rub his back and make the "sh" noise to calm him down. And the funny thing is that she can totally calm him down and get him to stop crying! He will just smile up at her and be so happy! He loves her just as much as she loves him I think! She was even giving him kisses today!! I can't believe I got a picture of her giving him a kiss!!
I hope this continues! But I think that I better enjoy it while I can!
