Day 8

Today is our last morning with a car, so I asked if we could go back to the cove beach.  It was pretty empty when we arrived at 8:15 & I thought on a Sunday it might get pretty crowded, but it really didn't.  It was a great morning!

And yes, he does have his shirt on backwards.  You pick your battles, even in Hawaii!!

I just love this beach!!  Anywho, we headed back to our condo, but of course we had to stop for some shave ice!!

Yummy!!

Mike had to return the rental car, so the kids & I turned into couch potatoes!  It's been a busy few days!!!  Mike returned by bus from returning the car & we continued to watch TV.

Now phase 2 of our vacation begins!

Day 7

Today we attempted the famous Road to Hana.  We made it about an hour in (of the 3 hour drive) due to Kate becoming car sick (and I wasn't far behind her) and throwing up.  It is this crazy curvy road with lots of one lane bridges.

We saw these amazing trees that looked like they had been painted, called Eucalyptus trees.

We saw some amazing views.

We did stop to see some waterfalls and went in a little walk & saw a cocunut tree, banana tree, beautiful flowers and a frog.

We got a banana/pineapple smoothie & a cut up half cocunut.

Good smoothie, cocunut was really weird.

After we drove back home, we ate lunch and played go fish again.  Tomorrow is our last day with a car for 2 weeks so we did a little souvenir shopping.  A necklace & Maui Christmas ornament for me, car decal for Mike, shells for Kate and a shark tooth necklace for Alex.

Then we went grocery shopping for 2 weeks.  So not fun with the kids!  But we made it.  Chilled out at home--Mike grilled chicken for dinner then to the pool.  The baby pool here closes at 6 pm for some crazy reason, so we came back up to play more go fish.  Now it's time for bed!

After tomorrow I'm afraid my blog is going to become, just pictures of us at the beach & pool so bear with me!!

Day 6

Headed to Makena Beach, which was beautiful, but way too rough.

Then on to Polo Beach.  It was rough too, but had a very long shallow part to it.  Kids played in sand most of morning, made some friends & then we all went in the water.

I was holding Kate and Mike was holding Alex.  It was so strong that it knocked me & Kate over.  It scared her, so we decided to make a sand castle.

Then we headed home for showers & lunch.  We had our Luai tonight!!!

We headed out all dressed in our Hawaii attire for our Luai at the Marriet.  Alex really needed a nap, so we left early hoping he would nap in the car.  Luckily he did!!

But he still didn't want to take family pictures--even with a nap!!

We all had drinks

And ate

And then the dancers started!!  Kate & Alex were really good.

Alex informed our whole table that you could see the dancers Butts!  Kate even went on stage to dance!!

Later when we asked the kids which dancer they liked best, she said herself!!  Alex's favorite was the fire man!

It was another great day!!

Day 5

Yes, we got to sleep until almost 6am--so much better than 4!!  Mike watched soccer game, while I got us packed for our day at different beaches.

Our first beach, Kapalua Beach, was the best one of the day.  It was a cove with crystal clear blue water.  It was calm and everyone was paddle boarding and snorkeling.

I heard talk of seeing turtles & lots of beautiful fish.  Mike & I watched the kids playing in the water.  Kids & I went on a walk, and only found rocks.  Very rocky cove.  Kids also enjoyed the sand!

Next we headed to the Hyatt Regency Hotel.  Beach wasn't that great, so we walked around hotel.  Very beautiful!  It had the cutest penguins!

Last we headed to Ka'anapali Beach.  It was very rough & windy!!  Too rough for the kids, so we all had to get in.  Once a big wave knocked over Buddy--we left!

Buddy slept the trip home, then we all took a shower and then chilled out until dinner.  Mike grilled hot dogs for kiddos and we had grilled chicken and veggies.  Very yummy!  We followed dinner with a game of Hello Kitty Go Fish.  Now to bed!
