Fire station tour

The kids & I took a tour of one of the Pflugerville fire stations today with my Mom's group. Kate loved the fire hat she got & Alex loved the attention he got from the older kids!

NKOTBSB

Mike & I traveled down to San Antonio last night to see The New Kids on the Block & the Backstreet Boys. The kids stayed with their Aunt Jes & Uncle Brian. We had a great time & I felt like a 12 year old girl all over again. It was so nice to take a break from packing!!

Looks like we will be closing on Friday & start the big move!!!

Splash park

We took a much needed break from packing & headed to a splash park this morning! Kate had a great time & Alex wasn't a fan of the water, but enjoyed watching the kids.

Messy Alex!!

Oh Alex!! He drives me crazy!! He loves to rub his dirty hands on his head/hair during meal time!

Sad/happy sight

So I cleaned off our fridge & it hit me hard that we are leaving this house. We have had such a wonderful almost 8 years in this house. From getting our first babies (Trudy & Sammy) to getting married & then bringing home Kate & Alex. It's so bittersweet to me!! I love the new house & can't wait to live in it, but I know & love this house so much.

Kiddos in red

I didn't realize it until Kate came home from camp, but both kids were in red & white outfits. I tried to get some cute shots!

Kate is super busy this week!! She has Camp (at the same place she went to MDO) from 9-1 every day & then swimming lessons at 5:50. She seems to be enjoying both. Swimming lessons are over on Friday & she has another camp next week. Alex & I are doing music class every Tuesday. He just dances the whole time! So cute. I have to get a video of that sometime soon!! He is starting to eat much more finger foods. He likes grapes, watermelon, cheese, plums, toast, sweet potato & chicken so far. He makes a mess every time but it keeps him happy & still! He can stand up on his own but only for a few seconds. His upper front left tooth has broken thur so he is sleeping better. The upper right one will make an appearance soon, too.

The Clear Springs house is getting inspected today. There is already a 2 page list of things wrong! Oh goodness!

Our new casa!!!

Remember me saying that we left California a few days early due to a house coming up for sale that we really liked in Round Rock (about 7 miles from our current house)? Well we came home that Friday night & went to look at it that Saturday. It was even better in person than it was in the pictures!! Mike & I both really liked it, but the seller was asking WAY too much for it!!! To make a long story short, we made 3 offers, 2 that they countered & then a last one that they said no to. So then we sat back and well waited!!! Mike refused to overpay for the house & I had to just trust him that no one else was crazy enough to pay what they wanted!!! Our waiting paid off (thanks to Mike!!!)!!! We got the house for about 50,000 less then they originally listed it for!!! And they don't want to have to pay another house payment so they want to close July 1st!!! So soon!! We are getting it incepted in the morning & as long as it isn't falling apart-we should be on our way to our new home & then getting our current house for sale!!

Alex's stats at 9 months

Length: 27 1/2 in (25%)
Weight: 18 lbs 2 oz. (15%)
Head: 45 1/2 cm. (60%)

Dr Owens said he looked great & that he was advanced by knowing how to wave Hi & Bye. He has a small hernia in his belly button & had to have his iron level tested. He cried more during the exam by Dr Owens then he did when he got his blood taken! He clapped for her & she said she loved his blue eyes. She seemed impressed that he has never had formula & that I was still breastfeeding. She also seemed to think he will start walking in a month or so.

Alex at 9 months

Alex is now a happy baby & so sweet! He loves his Mommy, making him a mamma's boy for now.  He loves to clap, wave bye-bye & hello, & he just starting dancing to music & our singing!  He is still super fast at his crawling & loves to cruise around on anything he can use to pull up on (like our dog, Sammy).  He can stand on his own for a few seconds even.  He enjoys pushing the walker across the living room.  He has two of his bottom front teeth & is getting his top two front teeth in right now (which caused for some sleepless nights for all of us at the river).  He is super cute & everytime we are out & about someone stops me to tell me how cute they think he is.  His beautiful blue eyes still amaze even me!  He is wearing 9 month clothes, with 9 month shorts being a little long on him.  He has super short legs!  He still loves to eat!  He loves fruit but isn't such a big fan of veggies.  He loves the baby food I make him & he nurses 3 times a day.  He is taking 2 naps a day.  A short nap right after waking up in the morning & then a longer nap after lunch.  He will sleep all nightfrom 7:30pm until 7am.  He also likes to play peek-a-boo!  He will cover his face & then uncover it & laugh.  He likes to swing & loves outside.  He enjoys his weekly music class by dancing the whole time!

Happy 9 month bday to our Buddy, Baby Alex!!

The River

This weekend we did our annual trip to the river with my family.  Everyone from my Mom's side of the family was there and we all had a great time!  We got there Friday night and played on the playground with the kids and had dinner with the family.  We all slept in one room and Alex was up alot during the night and woke up at like 5am (flash back to California!!)  We took both kids to the baby pool, which is a pool build into the river and they both screamed and wanted to get out!  So we didn't try the water again that day. After naps, my sister Jes watched Alex for us and we took Kate and my cousins James and Emily to see a movie. This was Kate's first movie at the movies!!  She did really well.  It was funny, when we sat down the previews were on and Kate saw a dog and says loudly "doggie!" and then this little girl in front of us turns around and says "SHHHHH"  So funny!  Alex was up and down ALL night Saturday night!  We got no sleep!  But I was determined to get on the river, so after church, Mike watched Alex while Kate, my mom and I went on the river!  Kate cried for a while and then she was fine and when we got out she said "again, Mama, again!"  So we went again.  Then our friends Christy, Jake and their daughter Taylor came to see us.  We hung out at the playground and then the baby pool.  Both babies cried getting in the pool and Kate wanted to go tubing again.  They headed home to put Taylor down for a nap and Kate and I hit the river!  It was getting crowded on the river so I was done with that.  We hung out the rest of the day with the family.  Again, Kate and my cousin James were inseparable.  It's so cute to see them together!  They are 8 years apart but for sure have a bond!

I can already not wait for next year!  Next year we will have 3 babies!!

Potty Training

I think last week I spent more time in our master bathroom then I have the whole 7 years we have lived here!  I put Kate's potty in there to start potty training her.  It went really well the first two days, not near as bad as I thought it would go, she even went "TT" on the potty on Monday a few times and then on Tuesday she went #2 on the potty.  We would pretty much just go and sit on the potty forever until she would go.  We read books and sang songs.  I printed out a free Dora potty training chart and made some Dora stickers that I also found for free!  She loved to pick out a sticker after going to the potty!  It was going well, until about Thursday and it's gone downhill since then!!  This weekend I think she only sat on the potty about 3 times.  Oh goodness.  We stayed home today to work on it, but she pretty but refused to sit on the potty!!  I just don't know what to do with her.  She is so stubborn (like me) and seems to not mind at all to have a dirty diaper/pull up.  Should I keep going or take a break?
