Day 31

Last day at the beach!!!  One of the couples that we went to dinner with a few nights ago & who we have spent the last few afternoons at the pool with, we invited to meet us at the beach this morning.  They have two little girls that are Kate & Alex's age.  Kate & Stella were boogie boarding the waves together & having a blast!!  I wish I had pictures, but I was playing in the water with Alex.

We sure will miss this view!!

After the beach, we packed more & then headed to the pool area for our last shave ice!!  They were yummy!  Then we headed to the airport.  Here we are hanging out at the airport.

We have a 9:45 pm flight tonight & should be back in Austin by 8am Hawaii time/1pm Austin time.  It's going to be a Long night!!  But I think we are all ready to be home!!

Day 30

Since we have a car, we headed out this morning!!!  We took a ride in this!!

It had a room below with all windows--really cool!!

Two of the guys went in the water & found stuff to show us.   On of the guys put a starfish on the window.  Really neat.

We saw lots of coral & fish.  It was a great time!  Next we headed to the shave ice place.

Yummy!!  

Now to pack!!  Can't believe he head home tomorrow.  But we had to go to the pool one last time!

Day 29

It rained all morning!!!  So we stayed in.

Then hit the pool in the afternoon.

Then we had lunch, hung out, headed to the pool.  Mike went to pick up our rental car from the airport.  Kids & I had a blast at the pool & it even rained!  A tropical storm was hitting Maui.  We weren't supposed to get any rain, but it did!  Kids just kept on playing the pool!

Day 27

We hit the beach & Kate enjoyed the waves!!

Mike & kids made some sand castles.

Kids & Mike hit the pool in the afternoon (while I watched trash TV & read).  For the last few days it's been the same people at the baby pool with us.  So mike got to talking with them & we all went out to dinner together!  It was super fun!  Between the two other families they had room in their cars for the 4 of us & we were off.  We went to a taco place & had a great time!  Kids played & us grown ups talked.  Great night!

Day 26

Mike has had enough sun, so we headed to the beach at 7am & stayed until 10:30.

It had big waves again today, so Mike spent some time in the water.  Here are the kids taking a "nap" on his beach chair!

Before we headed to the pool this afternoon I found Alex like this after I told him to get his swimsuit on.

Day 25

Mike had some work to do & Alex didn't want to go to the beach, so Kate & I headed to the beach!  We had a blast!  We played in the water, took a walk & even saw a green sea turtle!!

Wednesday is our favorite day here because our condo has a party at the pool.  Free Mai Tais for Mike & I & juice for the kids.  Kate got to dance again & Elvis even performanced today!

We were sad that is was our last party.  Only 6 more days.

Day 24

Back to the beach to check out the waves!!  They were big, but not as big as yesterday.  Unfortunately, the kids went a little too far in the water & we had to ran in after Alex.  Poor thing!  He was so scared.  We didn't stay long after that, it was too windy for our umbrellas, and we needed their shade.

We hung out, went to pool, grilled & now bedtime!

Another day in Paradise.  We will be home a week from today!

Day 23

Wow!!  This morning was wild!  We headed to the beach & I thought it was weird when a guy in the park parking lot told us it was great big waves today, well there sure was!!! Lifeguard told us that a swell had come in during the night & we would be having 6-8 foot waves for the next few days.  It was amazing to watch!!!  Kids were ordered to stay out of the water & Mike bravely took out the buggy board.  I watched him & held my breath every time he went under!  It was very strong & by the time we left lots of (stupid) people were in these huge waves.  I felt for the lifeguards.  At one point, the lifeguards ran out to save a girl, I think I am still recovering from this.  Luckily she was ok, but Mike said she got knocked over by one wave, came up & then another one got her really bad.  Lifeguards seemed very surprised she was ok.  Yikes!

After this excitement we headed back to condo for lunch & then to the pool.  Going to the pool every day has so improved the kids swimming!!  Alex will now swim underwater & loves jumping in & going underwater!  He was trying cannonballs today!  So cute!

Then we walked over to this place Freds for dinner & then watched the sunset.

It was fun watching the BIG waves & the sunset!

It was a great day!

Day 22

All I have to say about today is it is so wonderful to have some great quality time together!!!

Day 21

You really know you are on vacation when you have no idea what day it is.  Every afternoon I have been watching GH at 1pm, tried to turn it on today, only to realize it is not on today because it's Saturday.  Can't believe we are on day 21 already.  We are almost beach/pool bored I think.  Hard to imagine I know, but for real.  This no car thing is Hard!!  But a week from today we will have a car again for the last few days here.  I can't wait!

We all really miss our puppies.  We see dogs on the beach & it just makes us sad missing Sammy & Trudy.

About today, we headed to the beach at 7:30 & stayed until almost 11.  The winds started to get crazy & trying to explain "white caps" on the waves to the kids, huh.

Since it is Saturday, we take a break from school work.  Alex is doing really well with his number/letter flash cards.  He knows all but 4 letters now!  Kate is doing really really well with reading!  She knows almost all her sight words & yesterday she was spelling words!!  I feel like I am learning pronunciation and our crazy language with her!!  She knows all about short & long vowels now & the magic "E" at the end of words.  

We headed to the pool, dinner & then go fish.  Alex is getting surprisly better at go fish and Kate just loves it!!!

Day 20

Well, we all slept until 6:30 this morning!  We had all been waking around 5:30, so this seemed late.  We decided to have a lazy morning & headed to the pool around 9.  Stayed at pool until lunch time & then we just hung around the condo for the rest of the day.  Very lazy relaxing day.

Day 19

Mike "attempted" to surf again this morning & the kids & hit the beach.

We left the beach for lunch & then hung out at the condo, before going to the pool.
