Alex at 2

Oh our sweet baby Alex.  I can't believe our baby is 2!

Alex is so sweet and funny.  I feel like he has not stopped moving or talking for the past 2 years!  He always finds a way to amaze us and make us laugh!

You now talk about as well as a four year old in compete sentences and very clear.  You can count to 11 and say your ABC's.  You know your colors and we all love how you call brown "chocolate."  You know some of your shapes.  You love to sing!!  You know how to sing the Sesame Street song, Baby Baby song, Black and Yellow, Never Say Never (big Justin Berber fan!) and Kate's song What Makes You Beautiful.  He also loves Wheels on the Bus and Motor boat while swimming.

He still loves to eat & will eat pretty much everything we put in front of him.  He really loves spicy hot stuff and asks for hot sauce on EVERYTHING!  He loves chips, chocolate donuts, any kind of chocolate, fruit (especially strawberries) and dip!  Most nights he will eat his dinner and then whatever Kate has left on her plate!  He will eat his breakfast and lunch on his own, but always wants Daddy to feed him at night.  He seems to always want to eat!  He loves having waffles, bananas, and cantaloupe for breakfast and then fruit with a PB sandwich for lunch.

He loves Kate and I love how he always calls her "Katiebug." He always wants to be with her and talks about her if she isn't around.  He always wants to play with her and when she does play with him, he is always so happy.  Seeing him look up and admire Kate, makes me realize how my little sis must have looked up to me.  It is really sweet and I just wish Kate was as sweet back to him.  She has her moments, but there is a lot of Alex crying because of something "Katiebug" did to him.

Alex loves to talk and he always wants to make sure he has your attention!  He will grab your face and turn it towards him so he can look you in the eye while talking to him.  It's really cute, but when you are trying to talk to someone else while holding him, it can be a struggle!

He has taken to liking spiderman.  Not sure where this even came from, but his favorite action figure is Spiderman.  Mike watched one of the spiderman movies with him, but Alex talked and asked questions through the whole 1 1/2 hour movie!

He now will make a request after his nap for "a cup with ice and a splash of lemonade."  What other 2 year old asks for something like that!

Alex likes to talk about his penis and balls and is always saying who else has them and who doesn't.  This is typical dinner conservation at our house!

He will finally sit still and watch TV!  Finally!  He will only sit for certain shows and it doesn't always last very long.  On Saturday morning when I make pancakes, both kids love to sit in front of the TV and eat.  This is the only morning during the week the TV is on, so it's a real treat!  Not sure he will be going to the movies anytime soon.  Can't seeing him sitting still or being quiet enough!

Alex has already learned how to jump with both feet!!  Kate couldn't do this until she was at least 3!  He gets so excited and tells us "did you see that?"

Alex started preschool and gymnastics this week.  He cried when I dropped him off at preschool, but his teacher said he did fine.  He seemed to really enjoy gymnastics.

He always sleeps through the night and takes a good 3 hour nap most days.  Some days he doesn't nap and he does ok, he just really has to go to bed at bedtime.  He is so funny that he will ask you to snuggle with him before bed.  He loves to have books read to him before nap and bedtime.

Alex has been a pretty happy guys since he stopped crying all the time at 6 months, but now at 2 he seems to be unhappy at certain times.  He is totally a 2 year old and has the crying fits to prove it!!

We love you Alex and hope you had a great 2nd Birthday!
