Kate's nursery update

Mike and I (or should I say Mike) did some work in Kate's room last weekend. It is really starting to look like a nursery! Now all we need is a baby to put in it! Guess we only need to wait 2 more mths for that!!

New Braunfels June 2008

Mike and I just spend our annual river trip with my Mom's family in New Branufels, Texas on the comal river. We had a total of 13 family members this year and had a great time! This tradition was started my my grandparents in 1977 and it is still going strong!!

Kate's nursery

First let me say that Mike and I had a bet on the sex of the baby, I thought it was going to be a boy and he thought it was going to be a girl. We bet that whoever was right, would get to pick the color of the nursery. Well, Mike won the bet so he got to pick the color!! While his parents were here we put them to work in helping us put together Kate's room! It is still a work in process! Check out what we have so far:

We are registered at Target.com and will be having a shower in Austin on August 2.

Revealing Kate to the family May 08

Since Mike's parents were in town for Mike's graduation and all my family was in town for my sister's graduation, we decided to get everyone together to announce if we were having a girl or boy in September. It was great to be able to tell everyone we were having a girl whose name will be Kate Robertson Abernethy.

My sister, Jes, graduated from Texas State with a masters in Social Work. By graduation she already had a social work job for Goodwill in Austin and had already passed her social work license for Texas exam!! We are all soo proud of her!

Shannon and Eric's Wedding April 08

In April we attended another wedding, this time it was a friend Mike had meet in grad school, Shannon. We had a great time at their wedding dancing all night and even thought it was ALMOST as good as our wedding!!

Jennifer and Vincent's Wedding April 12 2008

I had the honor of being a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding on April 12. It was a beautiful day for two people madly in love to get married! The whole family stayed at the bed and breakfast where the wedding took place and had a wonderful time!

Puerto Vallarta April 08

Finally the morning sickness had subsided and Mike surprised me with a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!! Seriously, it was a very spontaneous trip!! We booked the trip Sunday and left on Tuesday! We loved Puerto Vallarta and would love to have a vacation home there someday!

Becca's Wedding

Despite my morning sickness, I made it to Colorado to be a bridemaid in my friend from college, Becca's wedding in March. It was 27 degrees during her outdoor wedding--but it sure was beautiful!

Cozumel Jan 08

With Mike finally finished with grad school from UT, we decided to take a little trip down to Mexico! We just relaxed every day by the pool reading books and eat some really great food!
