Hanging with the whole Abernethy clan

We were lucky enough to not only spend time with Mike's parents while we were in Delaware, but the rest of the family as well!  Kristin and sweet Aberlee flew in the same time we did and were picked up by Mike's brother Doug and his girlfriend Lizzie, while we are picked up by Mike's Dad, better known as PawPaw.  It was funny because I had to sit between the kids car seats on the way home and, well, let's just say it was a good thing that I have lost weight, otherwise I would not have fit!!

It was like Christmas morning waking up with all the family there!  We had  a great time hanging out and then headed to the pool for play and dinner.  The baby pool was a perfect height for Kate and Alex.  They had a great time!

Kate got her face painted as a Cat (I mean it is what she wants to be when she grows up!)

I love this face that she makes!

After a very busy first 2 weeks of June, we all packed up, dropped off the girls to be boarded and gave the fish their special last a week food and headed to the airport to visit Mike's parents for 2 weeks!  The kids did great on the plane!

Kate & Jax

Alex after his last swimming lesson

Alex insisted that he had to have a cookie & lollipop to celebrate his last swimming lesson today.

Swimming lessons 2012

I'm not sure what I was thinking but I scheduled us a very busy 2 weeks with Kate at camp every day, having swimming lessons at night and Alex having swimming lessons in the morning!  It was a long 2 weeks of going and going but the kids loved every minute of it!  Kate loved being back at PSP for camp and they both liked swimming lessons.  I wasn't sure about Alex, he isn't as sure about the water as Kate, but he ended up doing a really great job in the parent/tot class that we took.  Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of his swimming lessons (poor 2nd kid.)  He loved jumping off the side and didn't mind going under the water.  He especially loved the songs that we sang at swimming lessons and would ask his teachers to sing Wheels on the bus! This year, Kate was on her own for swimming lessons for the first time!  I was worried but it was so cute to watch her (from outside the pool, they kick all the parents out!)  She is so goofy and funny.  She loves the water and I think these pictures show that!

Here she is asking to go in the water!

Look at that smile!

Mom's trip

Mike's parents have a time share in Whitney, Texas and very graciously let myself and 5 other wonderful ladies use it for this past weekend!  We all left our kiddos with their Daddy and headed to Whitney.  We stayed at White Bluff Resort which was really beautiful and we had a beautiful view of Lake Whitney.  We all relaxed, drink, ate, and read by the pool!  It was a great weekend with some great ladies!!

I already can't wait for out trip next year!!

This is how  we roll!!

Alex's first haircut

Well, after a few people calling Alex a "girl" I broke down and decided it was time for his first haircut!  I took him to Snip It and I had my fingers crossed that they knew how to cut curly hair!  Well, he wasn't much of a fan of it at first, he kept saying "I want Mommy!"  But he warmed up and did a great job (the TV and lolly-pop helped!)  He looks so different now and like a BIG boy!  The hairdresser told me that his curls aren't going ANYWHERE!

He was NOT happy!  Hair before

the river wore him out!!

We headed to the Comel river again this year to meet up with the Robertson family.  The kids were super excited to see everyone.  We had a great time and I already can't wait for next year!!  Kate and Alex both floated on the river and Kate was like a little fish!
