Sprinkler backyard fun

Last week the kiddos and I went to a really fun backyard sprinkler playdate at our favorite friend's house!

Sweet baby boy!

Kate loved the big pool and is such a little fish!  I can't wait to take her to the pool!  She was feeling a little under the weather yesterday.  I was afraid she had strep throat because she wasn't eating and was tired and her friend Jax has it.  But on Sunday she had this mental cooking toy in her mouth and fell and it cut the back of her throat in two places.  Poor baby.  I took her to the DR because her behavior was so weird, but dr thinks it was due to her injury in her mouth.

Alex is so funny.  He is talking in sentences and everyone always says something about his crazy curly hair everywhere we go!  He likes to copy Kate with counting, but it usually goes like 1 2 3 1 or 7 8 9 6!  It's so cute!  He is doing a great job in this Big Boy Bed.  We have decided to redecorate his room with dinosaurs.

All the baby fish are doing well.  We have about 30 baby molly fish.  We are enjoying watching them grow a little everyday.  I guess we are going to have to take them to the pet store sometime soon!

I am training to run a 5K again, so on Sunday mornings I go out for a ran.  This Sunday I found a house in our neighborhood that got hit by lighting and burned down. So sad.  The couple got out ok luckily!  The brick was all standing and it smelled of smoke.  I made Mike check the fire detectors when I got home!

Kate's first Dentist Appointment

Kate did a super great job at the dentist!!!  She was perfect!!  She was a rock star!  Unfortunately, she does have a little cavity on the side of one of her teeth.  We have not been flossing her teeth and they are so close together that it caused a cavity.  I still can't believe what a great job she did!!

Big boy bed update:

Last night Alex cried for about 1 1/2 hours before finally falling asleep right by the gate that is in his door frame.  Today at nap, he didn't cry, but never did fall asleep.  Tonight he cried maybe 5-10 minutes and then played for a while and then fell asleep in front of the gate again!

Big boy bed!

Right before Easter, Alex climbed out of his bed for the first time. Luckily, his crib is a lower height in the front than the back & sides, so we turned the crib around. That has worked for a while, until he climbed out over the side today. So tonight is his first night in his big boy bed. We took apart the bunk bed & removed the rocking chair. Tomorrow Mike will take out the crib. I can't believe our baby boy is big enough to be out of a crib.

Kate was a few months older when we moved her into her big girl bed & she did great!! She acted like she had been sleeping in her big girl bed forever.

As our kiddos are different on everything, this is no different! Alex is standing at the gate & crying. Poor baby. It is going to be a long night!

All abilities park

Saturday morning, we had made plans to head to Austin to watch a dragon boat race, but Mike had like 3 tons of rock delivered on Wednesday that he wanted to work on landscaping our backyard.  Each stone is like 25 lbs each!  He worked a little longer than we expected so we headed out to a new park in Round Rock called the All Abilities Park.  Kate actually didn't spend the whole time in the sand box and only had one meltdown so we had a great time!
